This record consists of approximately 6,000 funeral records from the Kent Funeral Home in Green City (Sullivan Co.), MO, and covers mostly persons who lived in the areas of northeastern Sullivan, northwestern Adair, and southeastern Putnam Counties in Missouri. This database, which goes from mid-1915 through December 31, 2000, was generated by Ron Kent, the current owner of the Kent Funeral Home. He so kindly provided Gary G. Lloyd (Kirksville, MO) with a copy of these records on a computer disc, and gave Gary permission to share the information (for non-profit purposes) with any individual or organization that he wished. The database was received from Gary via E-mail and was formatted in the form that appears herein. There are no doubt some spelling errors due to interpretation of original handwriting, typographical errors, and differences in spelling of names from different family members at different times, so be sure to check all possible spellings of surnames you wish to research. Most of the updates have been added up through the present.
Information is listed as follows: Name of deceased person, (b) date of birth, (d) date of death, marital status (if applicable and known), name of spouse(s), parents' names (father, then mother), and cemetery name and location (if known). The symbol --- indicates information was not available. Titles [such as Dr. or Rev.] are placed within square brackets ([ ]) for deceased persons, whereas all nicknames are placed in quotes. The resources used for these Revised Kent Funeral Home Records are the original Kent Funeral Home Records plus individual cemetery listings, early birth and marriage records, Internet sources, individual family's genealogy research, many genealogy publications, published obituaries, and numerous family genealogy web sites.
