Lori
Dombrowski's PML Aurora that she level 2 certified with around
April. At LDRS she launched it on a K550. She didn't have an
altimeter on board, but compared with a friend's flight the next day
they estimated it got up about 8000 ft. Not bad for it's second
flight and her first K.
Ken Biba's Passionate
J and flew that day on a Kosdon M1130, weighed about 40# on the pad.
Flew to 8800' AGL, just sub-Mach. 7.7" diameter scratch built. 199808-LDRS-XVII-B-02A |

Gumienny's rocket is alpha beta, a 400% upscale. The picture of
the rocket painted on it is my husband's alpha which is a 800%
upscale he certified level 2 on. Also painted on it is a collection
of rockets from our club. If you want to see these they can be found
under Roc-stock
7 photos. I painted the rocket three weeks before the launch and
it flew great on a H-123. 199808-LDRS-XVII-C-12 |

powered by an M1939. Alt. 9790', 571mph, 6.4g. This was Mike's level

Red
Headed Screaming Banana by Jim
Rosson. It weighed 48lbs at lift off, and is made from 7.3"
diameter 0.165" wall custom G12 tubing. It flew on a Kosdon
M2230 with full diameter delay (hence the non-traditional smoke from
a fast burn Kosdon). The Alts-02 (50K) on board reported an altitdue
of 6482 feet. It was successfully recovered, with no damage. The
rocket has flown 6 previous times on M class motors and M class
clusters (it has 2-38mm outboard motors, not used for the LDRS XVII
flight). 199808-LDRS-XVII-E-12A |

Keller's 4 to 1 upscale of the Quest Aurora was powered by an

Kurt
Gugisberg's modified I-Roc that he calls the Roc Monster. It's
flying on a central J570 with a cluster of four 29mm. Unfortunately
they didn't light due to an electronics failure which also was the
reason for the shoval recovery. 199808-LDRS-XVII-F-11 |

A Martinez's (President of Sparrow
Tech Rocketry Inc.) rocket is a PML 1/4 scale Patriot missile,
it flew on a Kosdon I225-10J for a level 1 Certification the rocket
flew to an altitude of 3500 feet unfortunately the black powder
charge did not deploy the parachute and the rocket crashed in the
salt flats. But it was a nice launch. 199808-LDRS-XVII-F-15A |

A
scratch built paper/carbon fiber/fiberglass rocket, called "Red
Heads do it Better" owned by Jim
Rosson. It is 5.5" Diameter and 115" long, weighing
25lbs empty. The rocket was flown as a motor demonstration on a soon
to be available Kosdon East "Red Rhino" (red flame) M1700
motor with a total of 7800NS. The on board Alts-02 (50K) reported
14,272 feet. The rocket has over 20 successful flights on it,
including my successful Level 3 flight at LDRS XVI last year. 199808-LDRS-XVII-H-02A |
