Ken Bilba 199808-LDRS-XVII-B-02ALori Dombrowski's PML Aurora that she level 2 certified with around April. At LDRS she launched it on a K550. She didn't have an altimeter on board, but compared with a friend's flight the next day they estimated it got up about 8000 ft. Not bad for it's second flight and her first K.
Ken Biba's Passionate J and flew that day on a Kosdon M1130, weighed about 40# on the pad. Flew to 8800' AGL, just sub-Mach. 7.7" diameter scratch built. 199808-LDRS-XVII-B-02A

Also painted on it is a collection of rockets from our club. If you want to see these they can be found under Roc-stock 7 photos. I painted the rocket three weeks before the launch and it flew great on a H-123. 199808-LDRS-XVII-C-12

199808-LDRS-XVII-E-12ARed Headed Screaming Banana by Jim Rosson. It weighed 48lbs at lift off, and is made from 7.3" diameter 0.165" wall custom G12 tubing. It flew on a Kosdon M2230 with full diameter delay (hence the non-traditional smoke from a fast burn Kosdon). The Alts-02 (50K) on board reported an altitdue of 6482 feet. It was successfully recovered, with no damage. The rocket has flown 6 previous times on M class motors and M class clusters (it has 2-38mm outboard motors, not used for the LDRS XVII flight). 199808-LDRS-XVII-E-12A

199808-LDRS-XVII-F-11Kurt Gugisberg's modified I-Roc that he calls the Roc Monster. It's flying on a central J570 with a cluster of four 29mm. Unfortunately they didn't light due to an electronics failure which also was the reason for the shoval recovery. 199808-LDRS-XVII-F-11

199808-LDRS-XVII-F-14AAnother of David Thedens' rockets, this is a scratch built 5.5" diam scale model of an AGM-78 Standard ARM. It launched on a K550 and air started 2 H180's. 199808-LDRS-XVII-F-14A

199808-LDRS-XVII-F-15AAngel A Martinez's (President of Sparrow Tech Rocketry Inc.) rocket is a PML 1/4 scale Patriot missile, it flew on a Kosdon I225-10J for a level 1 Certification the rocket flew to an altitude of 3500 feet unfortunately the black powder charge did not deploy the parachute and the rocket crashed in the salt flats. But it was a nice launch. 199808-LDRS-XVII-F-15A

199808-LDRS-XVII-F-22ADavid Reese's LOC Bruiser launching on a J275. Altimeter on board measured altitude of 1728 feet. This was a level 2 certification attempt, and was a perfect flight in every way, except a fin popped off when the rocket touched down.199808-LDRS-XVII-F-22A
